The Harvard is not one of the more common Simpson models that you see around. This particular shaving brush came from an old stock of Simpsons from several years ago. This was back in the days of the Manchurians, before the buzz about shedding and quality issues came about. This brush is the largest of the Harvard models. The knot is large and extremely dense, so that it hardly blooms at all even after intense lathering.
For this review, I decided to demo my new favorite cream, D.R. Harris Lavender. Here is the Simpsons Harvard 6 in all its massive badger glory:
An overhead shot to show its density:
This shaving cream is rather dense and takes a bit more work to get it going than some of the others. This is a few swirls in, but you can see the brush immediately starts tearing right through it and whipping up a nice lather:
A little more, that's more like it...
This is a ton of lather!
A big bloom.
