P.160 Tipo Morbido Shaving Soap

Email Print PDF

The P. 160 brand produced two different versions of soft shaving soap, the Tipo Morbido and Tipo Duro.  Unfortunately both soaps have been discontinued, but they are still sought by wet shavers around the globe for good reason. Since picking up the P.160 Tipo Morbido, it sees rotation almost daily. It smells great, provides excellent protection, and is among the slickest soaps I have used.

D.R. Harris Arlington Shaving Soap

Most shaving retailers agree that the best-selling D.R. Harris soap is the Arlington shaving soap.  The unique citrus fragrance is widely popular, and this soap remains one of the few hard soaps that contains tallow, which produces a rich and creamy lather. This article takes a closer look at this beloved shaving product.

D.R. Harris & Co. of London has been producing some of the finest luxury personal care items for over 200 years.  Their line of shaving products is well respected among traditional wet shavers as being some of the best available.  The Marlborough stands out as one of the unique offerings among the more traditional fragrances, such as sandalwood, lavender, rose, etc., in which shaving creams and soaps are usually offered.  This article takes a closer look at one of my favorite shaving soaps, D.R. Harris Marlborough.

PILS Shaving Soap

If you see the word PILS on a shaving forum usually what follows is a barrage of positive reviews of their stunningly perfect stainless Double Edge Razors.  I have hardly seen any negative comments other than “It costs too much.”  Along with their outstanding razors, PILS makes other shaving products, including a shaving soap.

Anyone who frequently visits Shaving 101 knows that I love Tabula Rasa, a unique product between a soap and a cream, so I was curious to try this Italian-made soft soap. Some reviewers have said that they use this product as a shaving cream, while others claim that it works better as a soap. In order to demystify the Valobra Soft Shaving Soap, this article shares my experiences and recommendations when shaving with this unique product.
